Twist in the Tale
Kal Ho Naa Ho takes the tragic note until SRK becomes so ill and doctor advise him to a complete rest as he has only a few days left in his life. SRK wants both of them to patch and tie the knot. Movie has the sad end with the death of SRK. The theme of the movie is well portrayed that how a man who know that he is going to die but still teaches us a lesson to enjoy every bit of the life as there may not be a tomorrow.
On Screen Chemistry
Shah Rukh Khan was as good as ever but the emotional scenes leave the traces of overacting. Priety Zinta was gorgeous but Saif Ali Khan was wasted with a few dialogs. Some gay scenes in the movie and humor made audiences laugh a bit. Movie is one time watch.
Rating
I will give 7 out of 10 to Kal Ho Naa Ho for it’s romantic music, strong performance from SRK, fluent story telling. It does not have the strong storyline and they also did not reveal what life threatening disease Shah Rukh Khan had.

Movie: Dil Chahta Hai
Director: Farhan Akhtar
Time: 2001
Stars: Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Priety Zinta, Sonali Kulkarni and Dimple Kapadia
Snapshot of the story
Dil Chahta Hai is the story of three fun loving friends who are recently passed out of the college, unaware about the difficulties of the real world. They are very similar to any college pass-outs who likes to play pranks, make fun of any one and don’t know what to do in life. The story is all about their friendship, cracks in their friendship and their love life and how they find true happiness and friendship.
Debutant Director Farhan Akhtar Rocks with: Dil Chahta Hai
Storyline
The story starts with the graduation party and a chart topping number featuring all three stars Akash (played by Aamir Khan), Sameer (Saif Ali Khan) and Siddharth (Akshaye Khanna). In that party they meet Shalini (Priety Zinta) who came with her boyfriend. All of them has different sort of characters as Aamir Khan is real prankster and doesn’t take girls seriously whereas Sameer is completely opposite of Aamir Khan and get’s attracted towards every girl he meets. Siddharth is the most mature guy and an artist and painter.
From the start the movie manages to hold the audience to their seat; Dil Chahta Hai has some of the fantastic and exotic scenes of Goa as they go for their holiday. This short story period of Goa was very well shot and you will see some hilarious moments in the movie.
Story takes a serious turn as Aamir Khan’s has made comment of Akshaye’s friend Tara (Played by Dimple Kapadia) – a divorcee who wants him to make her a painting. All of them get busy in their life as Aamir Khan goes to Australia to take care of her father’s business, Akshaye Khanna find the painting workshop more lucrative to him and Sai Ali Khan still confused as what to do and in tangles with the girl friend. It took some time for Aamir Khan to realize that he had made a mistake that day which created a rift in their friendship. But soon as he comes back and makes up with Akshaye Khanna. On the nother hand Saif Ali Khan is dating Sonali Kulkarni as Pooja and will get married soon. Aamir Khan who was never looking like he will fall in love also starts dating Priety Zinta. This was also an interesting part of the story as he always denies to accept his feelings but had to do it in front of a huge number of people who came to Priery Zinta’s wedding.
On Screen Chemistry
Dil Chahta Hai is a fast paced movie and you will never feel that the director has made any error which is an appreciable debutant for director Farhan Akhtar. Music of the move is good and that would have you whistling even after leaving the cinema hall. Preity Zinta was beautiful and Sonali Kulkarni was looking as girl next door as always. Dimple Kapadia made a come back to screen after a long time and was looking charming as ever.
Rating
I would give 9 out of 10 for Dil Chahta Hai for brilliant story telling, fantastic screen play, exotic locations of Australia considering it if the first movie of Farhan Akhtar. Aamir Khan was awesome as ever and all the trio looked exceptional.

Snapshot of the story
First half of the movie can be related to boy next door as Karan (Played by Hrithik Roshan) recently graduated from college and totally confused what to do in life. His mind keeps changing every day. However no dream is too big if he decides to achieve something and it is just the matter to when we realizes that dream.
Farhan Akhtar Aims Big with: Lakshya
Storyline
Farhan Akhtar keeps reinvesting the ideal to fascinate the audience and especially young audience. After “Dil Chahta Hai” he comes with “Lakhya” with his signature style direction of story telling and some chart topper songs and choreographed by “Prabhu Deva”.
In the story Hrithik comes from rich family and after college he is confused what to in life as his father wants him to join family business like his elder brother. One fine day with his friend he fills the employment form of armed forces and gets the interview call. However his friend denies as he has taken in the MBA College. Preity Zinta motivates him to go for it as this could be he is looking for but Hrithik’s entire family is against him specially his dad.
Against everyone, he goes to military academy but the tough training of army grills him a lot and decides to run out if the academy. This decision was not appreciated by his father and Preity Zinta and this becomes the point when there is crack in relationship with Preity Zinta. Hrithik went back to compete his training and get commissioned there and in the mean time extending his passion to his career Preity Zinta has become the Television Reporter.
Twist in the Tale
Priety Zinta goes to cover the war against Indian and Pakistan and come to know about Hrithik. This past of the movie has different emotions of romance, drama, action and patriotism. Second half of the movie has more of war scenes and touches lots of high moments. This is where their old love takes a new spring.
Conclusion
Story runs very slow and at time make you feel bore. Story runs on the straight note and has very few twists. Amitabha bachchan looks very nice if the small role as major of the army. Hrithik was very good and Priety look very beautiful as ever.
Rating
Story fails to make much impact on the audience and I will give it 7 out of 10 for some of the best dialog and songs by Javed Akhtar and to all the technical team which has to work in freezing condition of Kashmir and Ladakh.

Movie: Ghulam

Genre: Crime, Action, Drama, Romance
Stars: Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Rajit Rapoor and Sharat Saxena
Snapshot of the story
This is the story of a young man Siddharth, (played by Aamir Khan) who is an acting member of the mafia that terrorizes local people and asks for protection money from vendors. Then happens the series of incidents as he stands against the mafia to protect the local vendors.
Theme of Story
Siddhartha is an amateur boxer and arm of the mafia run by Ronnie (played by Sharat Saxena) who uses muscle power against those who do not give protection money. Revenge in his mind, Aamir challenges Ronnie for one to one fight. These action scenes were pictured very well and connect with audience.
Aamir Khan Raise the Voice No To Be: Ghulam
On Screen Chemistry
As always Aamir Khan gave his best, this was the 2nd movie of Rani Mukherjee and she also impresses with his screen presence. Duo Jatin-Lalit worked hard to create the romantic music and song rendered by Aamir Khan “Aati Kya Khandala…” was the chart topper for long time. Stand amongst the finest movie makers Vikram Bhatt is a versatile director that has made comedy, horror, drama and this time he tried action movie but could not justify with Ghulam with weak story line and direction.
Conclusion
Ghulam gives the loud and clear message to raise the voice against wrong doing and mafia which is danger to every ones independence. Movie does not run on the flat note and has many high and low in the story that some time spoil you experience but Aamir Khan with his strong and emotional performance made a hit.

Unless you are an Abbas-Mastan fan then you might be guessing through this movie right to the very end.

Story has enough convolutions to keep you guessing and is able to surprise the audience very well. Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu had strong roles and able to deliver their very best, however Akshaye Khanna and Katrina Kaif talents were somewhat wasted in this movie. Movie has good music and steamy scenes between Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha which is a must watch.

Movie: Dabangg
Director: Abhinav Kashyap
Time: 2010
Stars: Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood
Snapshot of the story
Dabangg means fearless. The story was written to show off the larger than life images of Chulbul Pandey (played by Salman Khan) and was done with ease. The story revolves around a corrupt cop Chulbul Pandey who wants to settle old disputes with his step brother Makkhi (Played by Arbaaz Khan) and step father (played by Vinod Khanna) and movie has a touch of romance with Rajjo (Played by Sonakshi Sinha) and the musical score compliments the story.
 Salman-is-Larger-than-Life-in-Dabangg
Theme of Story
Any one who wants to know what is Indian cinema, then this would be the perfect example where the hero (lead actor) has been shown with larger-than-life image well suited to Salman Khan. Movie doesn’t really make any sense and is for pure entertainment only. Salman Khan is playing a corrupt cop in this movie living in a small town with his mother, step father and step brother. He started to like a girl that he wants to marry but the girl does not have mutual feelings for him. There is a goon (Sonu Sood) in the town that creates problems for Salman Khan as he starts the operation against these goons and puts the break in their looting. After the death of Salman’s mother his relationship with the step dad and brother started to show signs of cracks. Trying to take the advantage of this situation Sonu uses Arbaaz against Salman. A love story is also running in the background as Rajjo started liking and dating Salman and they finally tie the knot. Soon Arbaaz comes to know the evil intentions of Sonu and refuses to kill his own step brother and then Sonu decides to kill Arbaaz as he did not kill Salman.
Twist In the Tale
Story becomes a great action movie when Salman comes to know about this plot and try to save his step brother’s life and also come to know that his mother was killed by this goon (Sonu Sood). This adds the flavor of revenge motives for the action scenes. The last twenty minutes of the is completely dedicated to action as Salman goes to save his step brother and takes revenge of his mother’s murderer
On Screen Chemistry
The larger-then-life portrait of Samlan Khan was beautifully conveyed by the director Abhinay Kashyap in this movie. The movie does not ask much of you and applies the principles of Indian movies that many have come to love. This is in contrast to movies from the director’s brother Anurag Kashyap whos movies touches you with highly realistic stories. Debutant Sonakshi was looking very beautiful throughout. The music was the real highlight of this movie, specially the song “Munni Badnaam Hui…” which was a chart topping hit for several months.
The Happy Ending
The story ends with a happy note as the goon (Sonu Sood) was killed by Salman and Arbaaz was rescued from Sonu’s custody and that also bridged the gap between Salman and his step brother and dad and they start living like a happy family again.

On Screen Chemistry
Shah Rukh Khan in his usual great presence in this movie and was able to justify his romance with two gorgeous ladies Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor. Yash Raj is a big director in Indian cinema and made some the most memorable loves stories on screen with superstars of each decade. This time he did it with Shah Rukh Khan. Story was fairly simple with not much twist and turns but the real highlight of the movie was its romantic music that glued the audience to their seat.

The story has drama, comedy, music, romance, action and almost everything that most Indian movie are well known for.
 DDLJ-the-long-live-romance-of-srk-and-kajol
Storyline:
Story starts with the introduction of a characters Simran’s father, Baldev Singh (Amrish Puri) summarizing why he came to London and how much he misses his motherland India. These were very touchy moments for any one who lives away from their home for a long time. Everything becomes rosy turn when both Simran and Raj plan the European tour along with their friends but Simran has to deal with his father’s orthodox nature but she manages to convince him. The story connects with one’s youth as Raj and Simran meet each other on exotic location of Europe and Switzerland. Their love starts with initial distaste for each other, especially Simran who did not want to be around Raj but falls into situations where she needed his help during the trip. This is where she has an attraction for Raj and even Raj develops deep feelings for Simran but both through their pride ignore each other’s feelings.
Their European tour was good as it was home to some of the best moments including some great photography and chart topping songs. Their parting after the tour was enough to make the audience cry.
Movie has some of the best Indian wedding settings and rituals in the same manner as Mira Nair in the movie Monsoon Wedding.
Twist in the Tale
Story turns into a fast paced drama when Simran’s father comes to know all this and wants to tie the knot of Simran with his friend’s son as soon as possible and with that intention flies to India with his family to settle. Raj goes to Simran’s place wanting to convey his feeling to her but when he came to learn about this he decides that he will go to India and tell Simran. As per Raj’s plan he saves the groom’s life and becomes his friend and is able to be accepted by the household and meet Simran. He also came to learn that Simran also loves him but only getting married because of her father’s decision. For Raj, this plot gets exposed to his family and they throw him out as he remains steadfast in his instance in marrying Simaran. The rest was history as how Simran’s father gets convinced with all this and leads to one the most famous scenes in Indian cinema where Simran catches the speeding train. The scene is still in the minds of many even after 16 years.
On Screen Chemistry
Carrying the same intensity from Baazigar both SRK and Kajol have given their best performances in this movie. The great direction of Aditya Chopra, music by duo Jatin-Lalit and voice rendered by the great Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle with Udit Narayan made this one of the longest running film of Indian cinema.
The Happy Ending
The movie ends on a happy note as Raj and Simran fly to London followed by Simran’s parents to get married. It also sends a strong message that if you believe in true love then no one can ever take that away and it will always prevail.
