You don’t have to be very witty and alert to have this quality, in fact, if you over do it, it can work against you and you may ignore the actual people in the conversation making you appear a bit selfish and attention seeking.

To have a good sense of humor, one must perceive some but not all events in some comical fashion ie. turn the situation into an amusing story. For example, the other day, I was with a group of friends at a house party and a couple had a very cute baby that was crawling on the floor and came to a group of people that was sitting. I had my camera and the baby gave me a good look at me and almost froze, and as I had my camera, I started taking snaps of him. We all noticed how he was almost ‘posing’ for the shots and I immediately said ‘ok, I have taken enough pictures of you’ and everyone burst out laughing.
