I must admit that I got my first date after spending some time on free online dating sites. A few months ago I decided to get online and check out a few free online dating sites that my friends and colleagues kept talking about. Frankly, I never could understand what all the fuss was about or why my friends took the virtual route to find a dating partner. However, curiosity got the better of me and so did my yearning for a soul mate. I created my profile on three free online dating sites and began a simple search. I did come across a few profiles that matched my style. I gave it a shot and left one of them a message, one who liked jazz music. With jazz not as popular I didn’t expect to come across many people. However, I needed to correct myself because my search brought home around 145 profiles. Amazing.

I initiated contact with one that I thought make a good date. I logged into the site and sent her a message. ‘Hi, am Andrew, I happened to come across your profile and noticed that you like jazz, and blah, blah, blah. She did get back to me a day later and we spent the next few weeks chatting and emailing. That’s the beauty of free online dating sites. Our first date was, you guessed right, at a jazz concert and a coffee afterwards. It took several dates with this great later and my dreams did finally come true. And, to think, I was cynical when it came to free online dating sites.
