About me and who I am looking for :
I am currently a student at The University of Akron where I pursue an interdisciplinary degree that will in the end prepare me for graduate studies in Ethno-Musicology (In essence, Musical Anthropology). I am polite and articulate, and I enjoy carrying on intelligent conversations about History, Philosophy, Anthropology, and other General Humanities. Intelligence holds a lot more weight than looks for me. I like to go out and do things every now and then, but sometimes I prefer to stay home and read, have conversations, or engage in one of my many hobbies. I perhaps have too many of these, but I would be lost without them. I am looking for an intelligent woman with an open mind, and a curious disposition. She should, like me, be a constant learner. There is never a such thing as knowing too much. She should also be compassionate and caring. Ah yes, and she should not be opposed to dating a person who follows an alternate spiritual path (Non-Christian).

About life style :
I describe myself as a constant learner. Many people consider me a know-it-all, but I believe that there is no such thing. Nobody can know everything, but it is best to come as close as possible. I read broadly, and like to discuss what I learn with others. As I have indicated above, I exercise frequently. This includes a number of outdoor activities like camping, hiking, rock climbing, and swimming. As a future Anthropologist, one never knows when these more physical aspects of learning will become necessary. I also do Yoga, Tai Chi/Wushu, and a little Jiu-Jitsu to stay fit. Put more briefly, I always strive for a state of mental sharpness and physical health to match.

I have a very eclectic attitude about religion. I tend to study a number of religions and incorporate certain aspects into my own beliefs, and reject others. If I had to choose two (I can not choose one because it is a tie) that have influenced me the most, it would have to be Buddhism and Taoism. I have been exposed to a great deal of non-western ideas and most of them simply make more sense to me. One of my most influential inspirations is Tenzin-Gyatso, The Fourteenth and current Dalai Lama. In essence, I have created my own religion, using Eastern Philosophy as a base foundation.

I am studying at The University of Akron, where I pursue an individualized Major. This consists of classes in Music, Anthropology, and History. After graduating with this interdisciplinary bachelor's degree, I will be prepared with a wide background to be narrowed into a graduate program that focuses on Ethno-Musicology. A Musicologist is a person who studies composers and their works in addition to the social, political, and other historical events of the time. This is done primarily to come to an understanding of a piece of music in its cultural context. An Ethno-Musicologist then, is a Musicologist who deals primarily with Non-Western Music. Many Ethno-Musicologists also become Musical Archaeologists or Anthropologists.
