Excellent points. Lying is never a good idea. It will always come back to haunt you. On the other hand, most people like a little mystery, so hold back some information in the beginning. Let the discovery process unfold naturally.

Truth in online dating: if you are not totally truthful online, what do you expect to get out of your time here? (e.g. if you post a fake photo or lie about your weight, do you only want online chat and no realtime love?)

And, if you are overly truthful with someone online super fast (told them EVERYTHING about yourself), what do you think that will do for you/what has it done for you (positives and negatives)?
