One of the most important things I learned from my 'background' is to never take things for granted. And that men do not define you. You don't need a boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife to thrive and be the best version of yourself. In fact you need to be your best before you can put yourself out there.
I grew up, mostly, without a father, and for a long time assumed men couldn't be trusted. But, I've slowly accepted the fact that men/boys are human too. They love, hurt, and make mistakes. And us women/girls hurt them just badly as they hurt us sometimes.
My mom was told she couldn't have children, but ended up having me and my sister in the span of 30 years of unprotected sex. Because of this, I am pro-life. I can't imagine taking the life of something that your body is supposed to be shielding, protecting.
