Born in Brooklyn, New York, Papitos’ ascent into music began at the young age of seven, while playing drums at the church his father pastored in “Spanish Harlem.” Throughout his formative and adolescent years, music served as a soothing comfort, as well as a cathartic form of self-expression. It starved off trauma in an otherwise abusive home. At the age of twelve, the Papitos’ family moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts. To escape the cycle of abuse at home, Papito turned to the streets for refuge. But the streets could offer Papito nothing but trouble – in the form of “hustling” and “addiction.” Miraculously, through faith in God and a passion for music, Papito was able to turn his life around...
