Cynical yet compassionate, realistic, understanding

I look at the world through the eyes of an observer as opposed to a participant. I find people in general to be hollow followers of someone elses ideals instead of being individual and forging their own paths through life. I know what love is supposed to be, and I know what it is I'm searching for, but unfortunately I have yet to find it in someone. I'm a hopeless romantic, a political centrist, spiritual and accepting of others beliefs - as long as those beliefs are their own and not just something to believe because they can't form their own opinion. What I want out of love: I want to feel your breath on my cheek on a cold winter%u2019s day in the snow as you lean in to hug me. I want to feel your fingers against mine as we sit in the theater watching a movie. I want to hear your voice as it explains your day, and your laugh when I tickle your ribs. I want to gaze into your eyes without a word, and let you know that I truly love every aspect of you. I want to feel you press your lips against mine to comfort me when tears run down my cheek. I want to snuggle against you on a cool fall evening as we lay down to sleep. I want to stare up at the clouds in the sky in the middle of summer as we lay in the grass at the park. I want to run my fingers through your hair just after you%u2019ve brushed it, and see the look in your eyes as you look back at me. I want to hold your hand in mine as we walk through the orange and yellow leaves of a mountain trail. I want to hear the crackle of the fire as we sit together sipping hot chocolate in our camp site. I want to run my hand across your shoulder and feel your warmth against mine as we kiss. I want to know you%u2019ll always be there, because life means nothing without you.
