About me and who I am looking for :
My name is Matt. I am a music education and performance major at PSU. I am a nice guy at an age where most women are still lusting after the "bad boy" that will inevitably turn out to be an ass hole and hurt them in some way. I am a morning person and a night owl, yes that means on occasion I don't sleep at all but I'm young, I can get away with that :) I'm an affectionate person, though for some reason people tell me I don't look like I would be one, and I HATE being single. I enjoy going out with people to random places, but by myself I would rather just hang out at home, or if there was a forest near by I would probably be found in a tree reading a book. I really enjoy being out in the solitude of nature. I have a small group of very close friends, and I prefer it that way. I'm not the overly possessive type, so if I was dating and the person I was seeing had lots of friends I wouldn't have a problem with them going off for the day to hang out with them, I just wouldn't come along very often. Maybe a few times, just to get to know their friends let them get to know me :) I don't really like it when people try to conform to stereotypes, especially gender or racial stereotypes. I am not religious, nothing against people who are but I personally have found organized religion to be far to corrupting to want to be a part of it. I'm not entirely sure what I believe yet, but I know following a bunch of other people blindly because they say they are right is NOT my way. I don't smoke, and don't drink a whole lot. The bar scene isn't really my style, though I have been known to go on occasion with friends. I am pro choice and pro gay marriage, I don't believe that anyone's opinion should infringe on someone else's lifestyle choices. I personally am VERY straight, but my best friend is bi-curious and I don't have a problem with that at all.
I am looking for an intelligent woman who can take a joke and is comfortable with being/receiving affection, and who doesn't smoke.

First off, in regards to the children question, I say no only because I don't want kids right this second. Eventually, I may want them, but that will depend on the woman I am with and if we decide to have kids.
When I don't have a lot of money, I do a lot of hanging around the house, mine or a friends. When I have a bit of extra cash, I like to go out to places and do stuff. The kind of stuff I do usually depends on the people I'm with. I'm a musician so there's a lot of practicing. I also enjoy learning about stuff, so I read a lot, talk to a lot of people (mostly professors and people who have been around a while), as well as read a lot of books. I can be fun and spontaneous, and I'm kind of a romantic when I'm with someone I care about. I eat meat but I don't have anything against vegetarians/vegans as long as they don't harass me about it. I am originally from Minnesota, but I've been in Portland for 11 years now. I speak a bit of French, not enough to pass as a local but enough to scrape by if I were there. I already covered a few of my values in my about me section, so look there for most of those. To add to that, I don't cheat, and only believe in seeing more than one person if everyone involved knows about it and approves of it (so not usually). I don't believe that people should have to save themselves for marriage if they find the right person. Also (again as long as everyone involved knows and approves), I don't see a problem with FWB relationships, but usually don't participate in them myself. I don't like close-minded people, so those who immediately judge based on what they already think they know should not seek my companionship. Those who are open to new ideas and information, however, are welcome to talk/debate these things with me to their heart's content :)
