You think pay sites work any better? You have the EXACT same problems there as you do here. The only difference is that you’re PAYING for it. I do agree, however, on your comment about needing more people to comment (or post) in the forum. By comparing their answers/posts with their profile, you get a much clearer picture of that person.

To answer your question…you pretty much don’t!!

It’s been my experience (and I don’t speak for everyone) there are two types of people who don’t till out their profiles.

1. those who feel uncomfortable about releasing too much personal information. I can understand their concerns and they can leave out things like income and location but at the very least, let us know about their interests and who they’re looking for.

2. the scammers. These scum aren’t hard to identify if you know what to watch for. I just recently caught one within two emails. She vehemently denied her true intentions for being here but I turned her in just the same. The site administrator agreed with my assessment and now she’s gone.

Just stick with the ones that completely fill out their profiles. It’s not 100% foolproof but it is a far better choice (in the long run) to chat with someone real.

My main hobby is collecting artifacts, historical documents and signatures that have anything to do with American History. I find it fascinating beause it’s like holding a piece of the past within your hands.

Amazing, isn’t it? In a world populated with billions of people…and yet we seem to run into the worst of the lot (male and female) so, naturally someone is going to post the question…”are there any good men (or women) left?” They’re all around us only we seem to be looking in the wrong direction. It could be that co-worker in the next cubicle over. He/she could have a heart of gold only we haven’t taken the time to get to know him/her. Perhaps we’re really stretching our expectations well beyond the norm and no one is measuring up. Maybe we’re looking for a quick fix and we’re tired of the wait. They’re out there, believe me! One night stands are nothing more than an individual satisfying his or her basic, selfish need. What else can it be? It sure isn’t a sign of love!!

This site is no worse or better when it comes to fake profiles. I just caught a 31 year old female trying to pull a fast one and I didn’t pull any punches in letting her know I was on to her. Her profile disappeared real fast before I could notify the site administrator. We can’t stop them all but we can sure put a huge dent in their scams if we just rip into them. I dislike being cruel and rude but they’re asking for it.
