For someone who is accustomed to ordering online, I find it difficult to believe why so many people are still wary of shopping online. This may be due to the stories they hear about credit card thefts and so on, but I feel that it has much to do with people’s lack of understanding.
Why do you need to go out and trawl endlessly outside in the cold to find your loved one or dating partner the perfect gift when you can do it in the comfort of your own home. More and more people are finding the benefit and convenience of shopping online and it’s just getting better and a whole lot safer.
Firstly, let’s remove the misconception that ordering online is unsafe and anyone can grab your credit card. To digress for a moment, have you ever thought of the many ways people can grab your card or make a note of the card number and information and go on a shopping spree. Match.com started when singles were not comfortable saying that they meet online, but now the scenario has changed from joining single network for flirting to look for a relationship. Now days one out of six marriages are happening on online dating sites. Starting with Match.com in 1995 and taking it to 25 countries and 8 different languages is a big achievement. Forbes.com’s contributor Emily Benninhton got candid with Mandy Ginsberg, founder of match.com as she shared her “Success Formula”.

1. You have been maintaining an “entrepreneurial spirit from the past 16 years and still going strong, what advice you would like to give to others?
This is something that runs in our family, “why would you want to work for someone?” these are strong words of my grandfather when I got my first job. My grandfather came from Poland and started their business and my father followed him. Now when I see my uncles and cousins, they also follow the same path shown by my grandfather. This is something hereditary to us, something in our genes. The only advice I would like to give is to be agile, think out of the box and take decisions.
2.The best thing you did for your career?
Push myself to do things that I never did and something out of my comfort zone. Early in my career I was marketing consumer Internet products, but then I chose to join the business school at Wharton. Initially it was very challenging but not enough as being a single mom of a one-year old daughter. I found that if I can go through this I could do just about anything.
3. What advice would you like to give if someone has a crush on a colleague?
Well, there are many ways singles meet and workplace is the most common place where relationship grows. I met my husband at my last job as we came closer while working on a project. I was the one who initiated the off the job interaction. We have been married for many years now and counting on an office crush is not a bad idea.
4. Match.com has seen tremendous growth even in the recession, what are those key ingredients for success?
Humans fall in love anytime, your heart still beats for someone special even in a recession. To add more it’s the team work, @ match we have built a team that is passionate about their work and solving problems, but this problem is tougher as we need to deal with human emotions. We took calculated risk, @ match we focused on those nerve racking, exciting first dates. We started a campaign to create the TV commercial around those first dates and today with over 100 TV ads 30 real dated it’s the most successful campaign in history.
5. If you go back in time and one piece of advice to your 20-year-old self, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid of failures. Every failure gives you another reason to try.

First, find out what he uses and decide if you can buy him something of the same but better. For a women’s gift, men can have a challenge on their hands. Understand that women are more ‘cerebral’ then men and what may work for men may not work with women. You may already know what your woman likes but that is not to say that you can’t be creative and do something different that would surely surprise her. You may decide to take her out to dinner, instead of the same restaurant, which is something both of you look forward to on Valentines day, you take her to a similar restaurant. Although be prepared for an earful if the other restaurant is of lower expectations than your usual restaurant. If you have an understanding woman, she knows that you tried to make an effort by being different and will be thankful irrespective of the outcome. In terms of material gifts, perfumes and jewelry often find appeal in woman. So next time you go out on your date, be sure to always ask your women what she likes in those materialistic areas. Remember, her interests in those areas can change over time because she has seen a new range of jewelry from a magazine or tv just like you would not be interested in an mp3 player that was made a few years back.
Valentine is a day of fun, excitement and romance but don’t leave the material gifts to the holiday season, go and splurge out on your loved one and it will surely a new spark romance in the relationship!

The recent report published on “The Wall Street Journal” claims that online dating scene is not going to find you Mr. or Mrs. Right. The report also raised serious questions as to how can these dating sites show a perfect match by matching few traits like age, height, weight education and income. While doing matches one cannot predict the success of any relationship but they can only say how they are alike.

The Superbowl pulls a huge unknown crowd that we do not always appreciate and these are the people who purely watch Superbowl for the glossy and often very creative advertisements. Companies spend a fortune to appear in the few minutes break that shows off these commercials.

We at Jumpdates have found that these Superbowl commercials can complement a perfectly fitting date and appeal both to the man and woman. The ads. that appear in between breaks can be a perfect relaxation for the couples to bond and thus remove the whole notion that the game is purely for adrenaline driven men.
The first step for the man is to get their dating partner interested in the game and you have to be a tactful here and rather than show your eagerness for the game start by saying something like ‘Hey, did you know there are some interesting stuff going on in Superbowl this year’.
